Every business wants to rank high up on Google … ideally at the number one spot but how many actually achieve it without splashing out huge sums on Google Ads?
My mission is to get clients up there on the first page of Google through website content, copywriting, blogs and press releases … any way possible using the power of the written word. Once my clients get there they tend to stay there as this kind of content lasts forever unlike adverts which have a very limited (and expensive) lifespan.
Many have reached the yearned-for number one spot … and one of them is getting hundreds of website hits every week from just one blog I’ve written.
How many people click on Google adverts and how many actually go for the business that ranks there ‘naturally’. It’s all about trust and integrity and we tend to have faith in companies that occupy the top few spots on Google.
I’ll let you into a secret. You don’t really get there naturally. You usually get there through skilled copywriting with keywords and search engine optimisation along with getting coverage in the media with backlinks to your website.
This is what I do … and more.
After many years in a senior editorial role in journalism I’m ideally placed to know what newsdesks want and how press releases should be written to give them the very best chance of being published.
My skill is quickly grasping what you want to say and then transforming it into news stories and features.
If you type 'freelance journalist Yorkshire' into Google you'll find me at the top spot.
I’ve also several years’ experience in PR too, researching and writing blogs, websites, press releases and successfully applying for high profile awards such as the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for clients.
My services are totally flexible. I can write you a one-off blog or press release or I can provide a daily, weekly or monthly service. Just contact me for a chat to see if I can help you. After all, your results are my results and you’ll see some of them in the My Work section.
I’ll promise you this though. I’ll make sure that every one of your PR pennies count. After all, I am from Yorkshire.
"I have worked alongside Andrew Hirst for a decade now, co-presenting an annual awards ceremony to recognise the bravery, commitment and talent of those around us.
"Each year at this major event he compiles the inspirational stories of those who are being honoured. The script is so clear and comprehensive I can sight read it on arrival at the venue and it gives a real insight into the people behind the achievements.
"Andy writes with empathy and humour and always delivers both the script on time and for the audience in terms of his performance on stage."
