In October 1883 a rare blue sapphire is stolen from the Romanian royal family and is not seen again until World War Two when it falls into the hands of a sadistic Nazi officer and then a high class Berlin brothel madam whose life is not what it seems in a world ruled by fear and death. Fast forward to the present day and a former soldier fallen on hard times following a traumatic incident in Afghanistan has been left an heirloom which could change his family's lives forever … but what is its past and why does it put them in terrible danger?
